El passat 3 de desembre es va celebrar arreu del món el Dia Internacional de les Persones amb Discapacitat.
Segons xifres de
l´ONU, més de 1.000 milions de persones ( el 15% de la població mundial) viu
amb algun tipus de discapacitat, de les quals més de 100 milions són infants
i el 80% de les persones amb discapacitat viu en
països en desenvolupament.
S´ ha fet molt
camí, sobre tot amb l´ impuls que va suposar l´ aprovació l´ any 2006 per part
de l´ Assemblea General de Nacions Unides, de la Convenció Internacional
sobre els Drets de les Persones amb Discapacitat.
Els tres elements
fonamentals que han d´ inspirar les polítiques i accions són: accessibilitat --tant física com
comunicativa--, la vida autònoma i independent --que inclou el dret a escollir
el propi projecte de vida-- i l´empoderament --que passa fonamentalment pel
dret al treball--.
Per tant cal
treballar per suprimir les barreres, fer ús de la tecnologia tan com sigui
possible, treballar sobre l´ adaptació del transport públic, el foment de pisos
que comptin amb la figura de l´ assistent personal (que segons un estudi SROI
fet pel nostre equip de Govern Trias del mandat anterior a la ciutat de
Barcelona demostra l´ estalvi per les arques públiques que suposa respecte una
residència) i prioritzar l´ ocupació com a eina bàsica per a la dignitat les
persones.
Barcelona i els barcelonins
són un exemple i model de ciutat a tot el món,
que ha treballat en la línia de la Convenció.

few days ago, 3rd. of December, has been celebrated all over of the world the
International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
As
quotes UN, more than 1.000 million people ( 15% of the world-wide population)

The
world has done a long path, specially with the impulse of the International
Convention on the Rights of Persons with
Disabilities, passed in the year 2006 by the General Assembly of United Nations.
The
three essential elements that should inspire the policies and actions are: accessibility -- physical and
communicative--, the autonomous and independent life --that includes the right
to choose the own project of life-- and the empowerment –basically made real
trough the right of work--.
Therefore
it is necessary to work to eliminate the barriers, promote the use of technology as far as possible, work on the adaptation
of the public transportation, promoting homes with the figure of the personal assistant (a study SROI done by
our Trias Mayor Government team, of the previous mandate to the city of
Barcelona, shows the saving for the public budget that supposes respect a
residence) and prioritize the employment as a basic tool for the dignity of the
people.
Barcelona has become a model of an
adapted city all over the world, that
has worked in the line of the Convention.
The
